I’m a results-driven marketing professional with experience and training in integrated marketing communications, digital marketing, content marketing, professional writing, supplier-side and client-side research and analysis, mobile marketing, graphic design, customer service, event planning, community outreach, public relations, project management, and team leadership.
Experience and Training
I recently finished the master’s degree program in Integrated Marketing Communications at West Virginia University. The official graduation date will be in August of 2023. I had been thinking about getting my master’s degree for many years. However, it took a global pandemic to finally motivate me to start the process.
I first learned about integrated marketing communications (IMC) while attending a marketing event in Atlanta in 2010. I also read Marketing in the Round by Gini Dietrich and Geoff Livingston in 2013. This book was one of the reasons why I chose to get my master’s degree in IMC.
I earned my undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1996 with a major in Sociology with a Concentration in Analysis and Research (CAR).
I had two internships while attending college in Madison. The second internship led to a full-time position after graduation.
For over 10 years, I worked for the Credit Union National Association (CUNA). I was a Senior Research Analyst and Project Manager for most of that time. In this role, I gained experience in market research and content marketing.
Then in 2006, I moved to Louisiana. In February of 2007, I was hired by Franklin Associates, LLC, in Baton Rouge, to help with the community outreach efforts for Louisiana’s Road Home program. (Franklin Associates was a subcontractor under ICF International Inc.)
The community outreach team helped residents of Louisiana affected by hurricanes Katrina and Rita get access to federal recovery dollars via Louisiana’s Road Home program. Although I only held a small role in the project, I am very proud of the work that I did during my two years at Franklin Associates. I got a chance to gain experience in community outreach. I also feel that I was part of a great team that helped make a difference in people’s lives, and I met some very cool people along the way.
In 2015, I completed Auburn University’s Mobile Marketing Professional Certificate Program, and I earned a Business Graphics Technical Certificate from WITC (now Northwood Technical College) in 2020. And, as already mentioned, I followed that up with a master’s degree from West Virginia University.
I am now in search of my next career challenge. If there is anything that I can do to help your company, please feel free to contact me!
